Audition
Preparing For The Audition - I practised for my audition my learning Ducklings monolouge off by heart, this is so i was not reading it off of the page. I find it easier to learn them completly rather than holding the page as i get distracted and find it hard to look up. I did this by reading it through and writing it out in full, and in notes using key words from each section. I also reseached the play and its context
Monolouge - I chose this monologue as I thought it was interesting the way that "if I live" is repeated throughout, also because of the contrast between the first part and the second.
Reading Other Characters - I was asked to read for "Governer Arthur Phillip" and "Dabby", i found it easier to read for the Governer than Dabby, this was because i found it hard to speak with the accent that would fit the character. Dabby is in a lower class and therefore is much more in-your-face, upfront and doesn't really care what anyone thinks of here. However the Governer is in a much higher class and speaks as if he is well educated. He knows he has a lot of power and therefore shows this in the way that he speaks and his posture.
How It Went - The audition didnt go as well as i had hoped, this is partly because i got confused with some of the words and said them in the wrong order. Because of this i didn't think that I felt as confident as I could have been.
