Presentaion Notes
One group researched the conditions of the convicts ship. their presentation included information like:
- The shipmen treated the convicts cruely and with harsh punsihents.
 - The convicts were kept below decks in cramped conditions.
 - Many convicts died from illness and disease.
 - There were strict routines every day.
 
- It was discoved in 1606 by Willem Jazoom.
 - Australia was known as New Holland untill the 18th century.
 - Australia was also discoved by the French and the Dutch.
 
- The first journey set sail on the 13th May from Portsmouth, the convicts were taken by Captian Arthur Phillip.
 - 10% of convicts died on the journey.
 - The convicts were each given different jobs when they got to Australia.
