Tomorrow dance
This dance is to the song "Tomorrow" sung by the character of Fizzy in Bugsy Malone. It is about always being turned away and not being able to have a chance of being able to be on stage. This dance was performed as a solo around the set whilst Fizzy is on thee stage singing, it is quite slow and lyrical.
Physical skills
Strengths
I think that in this dance my physical strengths were my spatial awareness, this was because the set for Bugsy Malone was around the performance I had to change the pathway of the dance on both performances as it changed. I moved around to the places where there were the most space so that I would be able to do the dance. I felt like my posture was good throughout most of the performance, this was good as the song is quite slow and lyrical and therefore the dance wouldn't look good if I had poor posture as it wouldn't have fit with the mood if the song.
Weaknesses
I think that in this dance my physical weaknesses were my extension, this was partly to do with the lack of space so I felt like I was unable to fully extend my movements as I didn't want to hit anyone. As well as this I had to improvise parts of the dance, not because I forgot the dance, but because I had to change it to fit around the set and the audience this meant that it did not look the way that it did during rehearsals. During this dance I did not have much dynamic variation, which when watching back I noticed didn't look that good. I could have made some parts of the dance slightly faster to keep the audience interested.
Interpretive skills
Strengths
In this dance I thought that I had good focus, this was good because I had to constantly look where I was going so that I didn't hit anyone or anything. As well as this I think that I had a good eye-line throughout the majority of the performance, this was good as in rehearsals I had struggled with this and when watching back rehearsals found that was looking down for much of the dance. Although my eye-line was still not as good as it could have been it was an improvement on previous rehearsals of this dance.
Weaknesses
I think that on of my weaknesses was that I didn't use any facial expressions when performing this, I need to work on this because the use of facial expressions help the audience understand the theme and mood of a dance. Another one of my weaknesses was that my projection was poor, I could have made the dance look more interesting to the audience if it was projected out more. If I had more time to rehearse around the space more this would have been what I would have worked on the most.
