Tuesday 6th January 2015 - Evaluation Of Bugsy Malone (Dandy Dans Gang)

Evaluation of Bugsy Malone (Dandy Dans Gang)

Proxemics With The Audience - In the first show there were more people in the audience so it was harder to move around through the audience when we needed to sneak through to splurge fat sams gang. Because of this I had to change to way that I originally was going to go because there wasn't enough space to move in those spaces. However in the second show there were less people in the audience so It was easier to move around as there was more space. Also I had to make sure that I didn't stand too close to any audience members to make sure that the splurge didn't hit them in the face.

Proxemics With The Set - As Dandy dans gang I spend a lot of time near the middle stage block as many of the splurge scenes happen around the middle so that all of the audience can see, as well as this the audience can be involved in the scene.

Proxemics With Other Actors - As I was part of a gang the only other actors that I stayed close to was the other gang members, this was because as a gang we would be more intimidating than if it was just one or two people. The gang wasn't close to Dandy Dan because he is their boss and therefore keeping a fair distance from him shows the audience that there is a hierarchy where he  is higher than us.

Voice - I only had one line when I was in this cast "thanks boss" I had to do this in an American accent.

Dandy Dans Song - Before the first show we added some simple choreography in this, this made the song look more interesting to the audience. The song went well on both performances as our timing and pitching were both good, however the second performance went a little better as we were louder and more confident.

Overall Characterisation - I thought that my characterisation in this cast was good, I styed I character throughout the performance as when I was walking around the set it was different from Blousey Dandy dans gang are intimidating and they are not scared of the other gang or any of the other characters in the play.

Movement - I had to move around the audience whilst interacting with the audience and suggesting that they had to be quiet to emphasis that we are sneaking around. We had to crawl around the set so that we didn't get seen by the people we were supposed to splurge. We also had to suddenly jump up and splurge people, this went well as it showed a contrast and caused a shock to the audience.
