Black history month

  1. Black History Month is also known as African-American History Month, it is an annual observance in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It is for the remembrance for the many different things that have happened to black people throughout history.
  2. The dance "Free at last" was choreographed by Abby Lee Miller and was performed by the cast of dance moms.
  3. This information was from Dance moms wiki - Nia Fraizer http://dancemoms.wikia.com/wiki/Nia_Frazier (25th September 2014)

  4. The lyrics for this song are -
  5. As the sun rose up over the sea,
Everyone was singing in a minor key

  6. Gathered around for the jubilee.

Two old ladies they were waitin' on a sign,
Growing better with age like a Yellow Tail wine,
Shoutin' at the junkies in the Court Street light,
"Do the next right thing or the next thing right!"

    OH OH
You're a long way from home,
    hear me sing
    OH OH
    People nedd a miracle,
To do the next right thing

Hey heavn' forces and acquire your preachers,
Hey diddle diddle now the fiddle screeches,
Moanin' up the stairs and rollin' in bed,
She been talkin' to God since 2 a.m.

    Sayin' "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna die,
But a sister's gotta save her seat in the sky.
You can judge me, grade me shed some light,
Do the next right thing or the next thing right."

    OH OH
You're a long way from home,
    hear me sing
    OH OH
    People nedd a miracle,
To do the next right thing
    OH OH
You're a long way from home,
    hear me sing
    OH OH
    People nedd a miracle,
To do the next right thing

  1. This dance shows the racism there was against black people in the United states of america. It clearly shows the difference between the white and the black people with the costumes, the white people are in dresses that look as though they cost a lot of money and the black person is in a costume that just looks as though it was made out of cheap fabric.
  2. The lyrics used for this suggest racism, particularly in the first verse where it suggests different religions such as Buddhists and Hindus. As well as this it says " Everyone was singing in a minor key" this suggests sadness among these people, as a minor key in music sounds sad rather than happy.
Living for the city - Stevie Wonder

The lyrics for this song are -

A boy is born in hard time Mississippi
Surrounded by four walls that ain't so pretty
His parents give him love and affection
To keep him strong moving in the right direction
Living just enough, just enough for the city...ee ha!

His father works some days for fourteen hours
And you can bet he barely makes a dollar
His mother goes to scrub the floor for many
And you'd best believe she hardly gets a penny
Living just enough, just enough for the city...yeah

His sister's black but she is sho 'nuff pretty
Her skirt is short but Lord her legs are sturdy
To walk to school she's got to get up early
Her clothes are old but never are they dirty
Living just enough, just enough for the city...um hum

Her brother's smart he's got more sense than many
His patience's long but soon he won't have any
To find a job is like a haystack needle
Cause where he lives they don't use colored people
Living just enough, just enough for the city...
Living just enough...
For the city...ooh,ooh
[repeat several times]

His hair is long, his feet are hard and gritty
He spends his love walking the streets of New York City
He's almost dead from breathing on air pollution
He tried to vote but to him there's no solution
Living just enough, just enough for the city...yeah, yeah, yeah!

I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow
And that it motivates you to make a better tomorrow
This place is cruel no where could be much colder
If we don't change the world will soon be over
Living just enough, just enough for the city!!!!

La, la, la, la, la, la,
Da Ba Da Da Da Da Da Da
Da Da Da Da Da Da
Da Ba Da Da Da Da Da Da Da
