First Run Through Of Act 2 Of Our Country's Good
In this lesson we did our first run through of act 2, our aim was to get through the whole of this, however we only did scenes 1,2 3, 4, of 5,6 and 10. One of the main reasons we didn't get through was because as a class, the majority of our lines were not learnt. This meant that we were unable to move quickly through the scenes as we kept on having to be prompted. As well as this some of us kept slipping out of character because we were worried about whether or not we knew our lines. I think that before we can do a successful run through everyone in the cast will need to know their lines, this is because many of the scenes are conversations with a large number of people and therefore we cant just rely on ourselves to know our lines, we need to rely on each other to make sure that we get the correct cues of when to say our lines.
When doing scene 2 I found that i was walking too fast in the beginning and therefore I was just standing awkwardly later in the scene, because i had already walked where i was supposed to. In the next rehearsal i need to walk slower and with more gaps, this is so i am not just walking in circles throughout the whole scenes. I need to improve on my lines in this scene so that i am not coming out of character continuously, i kept doing this when i was asking for a prompt. When doing scene 10, we missed out half of it as many people didn't know their lines so we had to skip many parts. I knew some of my lines however i still need to improve by the next rehearsal to make sure that we can go through the scene fluently.
